True, Father Arnold is most motivated by faith because he consults his faith before he acts. In the end of the book Father Arnold wants to be with Checkers, but he decides to find his faith somewhere else. On pages 254 and 268 he references to his faith to help him make important decisions. None of the other characters follow a faith as strongly as Father arnold.
Reply to Pecans- We think your group is correct. Father Arnold is motivated the most by his faith in God. Another example is when Checkers kisses Father Arnold he immidiatly prays.
I beleive that he is one of the highest motivated character's by faith, as pecans and whs13 said. Also, i think Thomas is a big faith motivated character. He has to lead the band because they have doubts throughout the book, but even though it dosnt say it much he has to believe that they will succeed because he has to take risks. (By going to New York or making certain choices when they have no money.)
